Note - Notes: In May 1939, in the port of Leghorn, the twelve destroyers of the "Soldati" class gathered for the ceremony known as Consegna della Bandiera di Combattimento ("Delivery of the Combat Flag"). The Bandiera di Combattimento is a naval flag that - usually - is donated to a ship by a Veterans' association, by a City Council, by the heirs of the recipient of a naval decoration or by some outstanding Government official; this flag is hoisted only "in presence of the enemy", when a naval combat action is impending. For the ceremony involving the "Soldati" class ships, the "Combat Flag" was donated by officials of the Fascist Party for Camicia Nera, and by representatives of Veteran Soldiers' Associations to the other eleven destroyers.
